The short version

01 Who we are and what this covers

This policy explains how Kobi Tetro ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the Bedtime Stories Android application ("the app"), distributed on Google Play under the package name com.org.bedtimestories.

It covers the app only. It does not cover any website, service, or app operated by anyone else, including the third parties listed in section 5, each of which has its own privacy policy.

By installing or using the app, you agree to the handling of information described here. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

02 Information the app collects

2.1 Information you give us — none

The app has no registration, no login, no profile, and no contact form. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, photographs, contacts, or payment details, and it provides no way to send such information to us.

The search box inside the app filters the story list on your device. What you type is not transmitted anywhere and is not retained after you close the app.

2.2 Information collected automatically for advertising

The app displays ads supplied by Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), a third-party advertising SDK embedded in the app. To select, display, cap, and measure those ads, that SDK collects the following directly from your device:

This information is collected by the advertising provider under its own privacy policy. We receive only aggregate, non-identifying performance and revenue reporting from it — for example, total impressions and earnings. We do not receive your Advertising ID, your IP address, or any report that identifies you.

2.3 Information involved in delivering story content

Story text and some images are downloaded over the internet when you open the app. Making those requests necessarily discloses your IP address and standard connection information to the hosting providers named in section 5, as happens with any web request. We do not add identifiers to these requests, and we keep no logs of them.

2.4 What the app does not collect

The app requests no permission for, and does not access, your precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, call logs, SMS messages, photo library, health data, or files on your device. It contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Its only Android permissions are INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and AD_ID.

03 Advertising and your choices

Ads appear when the app opens and when you open a story. They may be personalised — selected using the Advertising ID and the technical data described in section 2.2 — where applicable law and your device settings permit it.

You can control this from Android itself, without uninstalling the app:

Where required by law in your region, the advertising SDK presents or relies on a consent notice before processing data for personalised advertising, and you may change or withdraw that consent at any time through the mechanism offered to you.

04 How information is used

The information described above is used only to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build profiles about you. We do not use your information to contact you, because we have no means of doing so.

For users in the EEA and UK, our legal bases are: legitimate interests in operating, securing, and maintaining the app and in non-personalised advertising; and your consent for personalised advertising and any associated device access, where consent is required.

05 Who receives information

We do not share information with anyone, because we do not hold any. The parties below receive information directly from your device as an unavoidable part of the app functioning, and each acts under its own privacy policy:

PartyRole in the appWhat it receivesPolicy
Liftoff / Vungle Serves the app-open, interstitial, and rewarded ads Advertising ID, IP address, device and technical data, ad interaction data liftoff.io
GitHub Hosts the story catalogue file the app downloads IP address and standard request data github.com
Imgur Hosts certain background and cover images IP address and standard request data imgur.com
Google Play Distributes and updates the app Install, update, and account data governed by your Play account google.com

We may also disclose information if we are legally compelled to do so, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others. In practice, we hold nothing about individual users that could be disclosed.

06 Retention

We retain no personal information, so there is nothing for us to delete on request. Data collected by the advertising provider is retained according to its own schedule, described in its privacy policy. Story images the app has downloaded are cached on your device and are removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.

07 Security

All network requests made by the app use encrypted HTTPS connections. Because the app stores no accounts, credentials, or personal records — on your device or anywhere else — there is no store of personal data for us to lose. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data handled by third parties.

08 Your rights in the EEA and UK

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.

Because we do not hold information that identifies you, we cannot locate or act on records about you ourselves. To exercise these rights over data held by the advertising provider, contact it directly through its privacy policy, or use the Android controls in section 3, which take effect immediately. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

09 Your rights in California and other US states

Under the CCPA/CPRA and comparable state laws, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

We do not sell personal information for money. Personalised advertising may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under these laws. You can opt out using the ad personalisation controls in section 3, or by contacting us at kobyt92@gmail.com.

10 Children

The app is intended for a general audience of adults — for example, an adult reading a story aloud to a child — and is not directed to children under 13. It is not part of the Google Play Designed for Families programme.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at kobyt92@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

11 International transfers

The third parties named in section 5 operate globally, and information collected from your device may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those parties rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Details are in their respective privacy policies.

12 Third-party content

Story text and images are delivered from external hosts, and advertisements are supplied by an external network. We do not control the content of advertisements and are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site or app an ad may lead you to. Review the privacy policy of any destination you visit.

13 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — for example, if we add or remove a third-party service. The revised version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Google Play listing. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
